CMDA Remembers Longtime Client, ESPN Personality Howie Schwab
More than 20 years ago, Jim Acho was introduced to Howie Schwab of ESPN through his friends, Randy and Jason Sklar who were hosting the show “Cheap Seats” on ESPN. Early on, a transaction started friendship that morphed into a professional relationship. Howie had indicated his favorite sports movie of all time was “Paper Lion,” starring Alan Alda and a number of CMDA clients, including Mike Lucci. Howie asked for Jim to put him in touch with Mike Lucci, and Howie ended up wearing one of Lucci’s jerseys on the show that made Howie Schwab famous, “Stump The Schwab.” The show is being widely remembered online by men aged 40-60 as the sports trivia show they looked forward to watching in the evening. A friendship turned into a professional relationship, and Jim Acho handled many of Howie Schwab’s contracts and remained his friend and legal advisor for many years. Howie Schwab was 63 years old.
