2 NFL (and Detroit) Legends Retain Jim Acho & CMDA

In the last 6 years, CMDA has collected nearly $10 million for retired NFL players on concussion claims. Some of the biggest names in pro football history. Names like Gale Sayers and Pat Summerall. CMDA is proud to handle these at a 25% contingency fee rate, which is 10-15% less than most firms. But CMDA handles a variety of other matters for retired athletes from every pro sport, from pension issues, medical benefits issues, NIL issues, and contractual matters. CMDA has been committed to retired athletes—specifically MLB and NFL retirees—for nearly 25 years.

Aidan Hutchinson may go down one day as the Detroit Lions sack king, but right now that title belongs to Al “Bubba” Baker, the NFL’s record holder for most sacks in a season (23.5) and the NFL’s 1978 Def. Rookie of the Year. Mr. Baker recently retained Jim Acho to negotiate on his behalf with a streaming platform for his NFL Legends podcast, currently in development. An announcement is forthcoming. In recent years, Bubba Baker gained a younger following from his appearances on TV as one of America’s BBQ PitMasters. Bubba Baker is a sought-after motivational speaker to schools and businesses and can be booked through CMDA.

Luis Sharpe shocked many in 1977, when the nation’s most coveted offensive tackle chose UCLA over Michigan and MSU. A Parade and Kodak All American at Detroit Southwestern High School, it proved the right move for him, as Luis Sharpe became a 1st round pick in 1982. He went on to be one of the NFL’s most dominant left tackles of the 1980s/1990s, a 3-time All Pro and the man Lawrence Taylor—considered by many to be the greatest defensive player in NFL history—called the one tackle he hated facing the most on Sundays. Off the field, Luis Sharpe became a model and actor, his most notable screen appearance being a cameo as Angela Bassett’s love interest in the film “Waiting To Exhale.” Later, Luis Sharpe went through a down period with substance abuse. Coming back from it like a champion, Luis Sharpe now speaks to schools and businesses about how to come back from personal failure to rebound to a fulfilling life. Luis recently retained Jim Acho on a contractual matter and same is being litigated. Luis Sharpe is a powerful speaker and can be booked through CMDA.

CMDA has always been known to associate with good people in its 60 years, and is certainly proud of its new relationship with these 2 NFL legends, especially given their Detroit roots.
