Linda Davis Friedland Obtains Commercial Litigation Victory for Client Company
CMDA congratulates Attorney Linda Davis Friedland on a successful five-day bench trial in the Oakland County Business Court. Ms. Friedland and her team represented a company that was sued by another company with which it had a longtime contractor/subcontractor relationship. Plaintiff sued our client for tortious interference with a business expectancy, claiming it suffered $1,464,240.00 in damages for lost business due to our client’s construction liens, which had been prepared and recorded prior to CMDA becoming involved and were determined by the Court to be invalid. Plaintiff also sued for $34,890.00 and for $42,000.00 on two separate contracts. Ms. Friedland filed a counterclaim on behalf of our defendant client for $119,987.00 on one of the contracts.
Result: Judgment in favor of CMDA’s client for the full $119,987.00. Plaintiff was awarded nothing.
Ms. Friedland’s trial team included paralegal Jennifer Brunson and legal assistant Robin Thompson.
