CMDA Opens New York Office
Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the New York office is the Firm’s seventh office location and first on the East Coast, adding to offices in Michigan, Missouri, and California.
The New York office will be home to CMDA’s growing Intellectual Property (IP) practice. “Having an office in New York gives us a greater ability to serve our clients’ needs, many of whom have a national presence,” stated Ron Acho, an equity partner at the Firm.
The office will be managed by Veteran IP attorney Michael Cummings. “Michael brings a great depth and breadth of intellectual property experience. He understands and appreciates the importance of patents for commercial success. Patents are valuable assets, and he is committed to protecting them for our clients,” stated Acho.
Patent law is national in scope and is not state or county regulated. By its very nature, it encompasses the entire country, which is important in that the protection a client is seeking for their invention will also be national in scope. Therefore, a patent law attorney does not need to be admitted to practice law in the same state as the individual or business entity that is seeking patent law services.
“There is always a great energy in New York,” stated Cummings, a partner at CMDA. “New York City is on the verge of eclipsing Silicon Valley as the leader in new technology startups.”
CMDA’s new office is located at:
1185 Avenue of the Americas, 3rd Floor
New York, New York 10036
Telephone: (212) 547-8810
