Attorney Lanae Monera Joins Firm’s Grand Rapids Office
Please join us in welcoming Lanae L. Monera to the Firm. She has joined CMDA as an attorney in the Firm’s Grand Rapids office where she focuses her practice in the areas of civil litigation defense, insurance defense, and municipal law. Prior to joining CMDA, she served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for a Michigan county with emphasis on contract review and formation and statutory compliance. She also focuses her practice on motor vehicle liability. Ms. Monera is skilled at resolving first- and third-party auto claims including claims filed through the Michigan Assigned Claims Plan and has extensive experience representing defendants in premises, dram shop (liquor) liability and construction claims. In addition to defending policyholders and insurance carriers in litigation, she prosecutes claims on behalf of motor vehicle insurers against other insurers under the Michigan No-Fault Act’s priority rules. She also has experience investigating and prosecuting fraudulent claims on behalf of insurance companies. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills, she assists the Firm with conducting legal research and writing briefs for submission to state and federal courts in all areas of law handled by the Firm.
Ms. Monera is a member of the State Bar of Michigan- Government Law Section and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. She received a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Grand Valley State University.
