About the Position
CMDA is seeking a highly motivated Research, Writing & Litigation attorney to assist with a fast-paced trial docket. While 3+ years of research, writing, and active litigation experience is preferred, this position is also open to recent law school graduates. CMDA practices in the areas of business law, insurance defense, municipal law, employment and labor law, and general litigation.
Skills and Educational Requirements
• JD from an ABA-Approved law school, with excellent academic credentials.
• Current Michigan Bar admission in good standing.
• Some active litigation experience preferred.
• Ability to manage cases from inception through trial, including preparation of pleadings, motions, and briefs, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Public entity defense experience is a plus, but not required.
• High energy, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on new projects and learn new skills quickly.
• Outstanding analytical and creative thinking capabilities.
• Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and electronic discovery platforms.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner, along with a commitment to provide clients with high-quality services.
