Overview
Jordan A.W. Barkey is an attorney in our Livonia office where he focuses his practice on appellate law, research and writing, and litigation. He writes briefs for submission to all levels of state and federal courts, argues cases in both the state and federal courts of appeals, and performs research for all areas of law handled by the Firm. He has extensive experience handling appeals, as well as considerable litigation and trial experience representing clients in third-party auto claims and first-party no-fault and uninsured motorist claims.
Prior to joining CMDA, Mr. Barkey handled cases involving complex general negligence, premises liability, dog-bites, auto negligence, police misconduct, and Section 1983. This experience gives him a unique perspective and the ability to effectively evaluate, negotiate, and litigate cases.
He received a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School. Mr. Barkey’s legal success can be attributed to the unwavering support of his aunt and the inspiration provided by his grandfather. He takes great pride in continuing a proud family history: he is a fifth generation practicing attorney, as the Barkey family has been practicing law in Michigan, since 1912. Outside of his career efforts, Mr. Barkey is deeply committed to civic engagement and community service. He has volunteered at the Free Legal Aid Clinic of Detroit and participates in Feed the Homeless initiatives through the Genesee County Bar Association.
