Overview
Ethan Vinson is an Of Counsel attorney in our Livonia office. Mr. Vinson first joined CMDA in 1979 as an associate where he worked for nine years. He returned to the Firm in 1995, was made Partner in 2005, and left in 2017 to become the City Attorney for the City of Warren. He served in this role until March 2024. In May 2024, we were thrilled to welcome him back to CMDA.
Throughout his legal career, he has focused his practice on labor and employment law, collective bargaining agreements, contract negotiations, labor arbitration, civil rights litigation, municipal defense, and insurance defense. He is a skilled litigator with over 50 years of trial experience. Mr. Vinson has handled matters involving the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, Title VII, the Whistleblower’s Protection Act, NLRB hearings, MERC hearings and unemployment hearings. Further, he has handled the defense of several municipalities in areas involving negligence, police liability and employment matters.
One of the things that make Mr. Vinson such an extraordinary person is his devotion to helping others. He is actively involved in several organizations, all with the purpose of helping people and the community at large.
