Patrick R. Sturdy is a partner in our Livonia office where he concentrates his practice on education law, business law, and employment and labor law.

Mr. Sturdy has significant experience representing post-secondary institutions with an emphasis on employment and equal opportunity law and labor relations and services, including arbitrations, grievances, discrimination complaints filed internally and with state and federal agencies, administrative hearings, collective bargaining, employee discipline and discharge, and other day-to-day issues.  Additionally, he assists clients with contracts and business transactions, state and federal statutory and regulatory compliance matters (including grant administration), academic affairs, student affairs, First Amendment issues, athletics, tax and finance, utilities, infrastructure and benefits.

Mr. Sturdy’s also provides an integrated array of legal services in the areas of copyright, trademark, trade secret, outsourcing, restrictive covenants and franchise law, including obtaining protection, registrations, amendments and renewals with respect to all types of copyrights, trade secrets, service marks and trademarks. He also counsels on licensing, marketing, distribution and other commercial transactions regarding products and services protected under international, federal, state and/or local intellectual property laws.
