Gerald C. Davis, one of CMDA's founding fathers, had a strong and stabilizing voice in the operation of the Firm. He focused his practice on business law, employment and labor law, and litigation. Mr. Davis became an attorney in 1972 and provided guidance and mentorship to many attorneys over his lengthy and successful legal career.

Overview

Gerald C. Davis, one of CMDA’s founding fathers, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2021. A strong and stabilizing voice in the operation of the Firm, Mr. Davis focused his practice on business law, employment and labor law, and litigation. He became an attorney in 1972 and provided guidance and mentorship to many attorneys over his lengthy and successful legal career. He maintained an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest possible rating an attorney can achieve for both ethical standards and legal ability.

Mr. Davis assisted clients with matters relating to business and employment law, transactional law effecting mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, company reorganization and refinancing, analyzing investments for joint ventures, intellectual property, and drafting loan agreements. He was experienced in workouts involving loan structures, asset relocation, payment restructuring, re-securitization of loans, collection strategies, and documentation of secured transactions. Over the years, he assisted Fortune 500 Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive industry, banks, major credit companies, large stock brokerage firms and businesses of all sizes.

We will be forever grateful for Mr. Davis’ guidance and leadership and will miss his engaging personality and quick-witted comebacks.
