Haider Kazim, a partner in our Traverse City office, and Andrew Brege, an attorney in our Grand Rapids office, are the editors of MMRMA’s Michigan’s Open Meetings Act Handbook.
Topics in the handbook include: 2013 updates; who is covered by the OMA; rules municipalities need to follow when having a meeting; when a closed session can be held; and enforcement and liability issues under the OMA.
If you are a member of Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority (MMRMA), please log in to their website at www.mmrma.org for the updated handbook. If you are an MMRMA member but do not have a login and password, you can request one by clicking “Member Login” at the top right hand corner of their website, then clicking the “Request a Login” link and filling out the requested information.
If you are not a member of MMRMA but would like additional information on the Open Meetings Act, please contact Mr. Brege at (616) 975-7470 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Mr. Kazim at (231) 922-1888 or email@example.com.
